Depending on the bug that is used to listen to your conversation, you might not even realize that someone nearby can hear every word crystal clear.

Go somewhere where you know you’ll be alone. Some cell phone bugs intercept signals being sent. A person who looks like she or he is speaking on a cell phone has a special device that allows him or her to hear what you are saying on the phone.
